this is what google gemini generated when i asked the ai about what would north korea look like with a liberalized economy.
so from my perspective if north korea would have a liberalized economy just like the one on this photo, north kore would likely be more similar to china or vietnam, for my opinion for this to happen is to replace kim's family with much more better supreme leader with a reformist and revisionist views & policies where the new supreme leader would allow privatization and markets, but still allow the authoritarian regime to prevent any further reunification with south korea since if you look at eastern bloc on why countries like east germany reunified with west germany, is because that they allowed free elections. if the whole eastern bloc including soviet union just allowed a liberalized economy instead of allowing democratic elections, i think china, vietnam, laos, cambodia wouldn't be alone and they would be extremely many with even north korea likely following the same path, but this kind of north korea has low chance of existing, why??? it's because north korea for me acts more like a family owned buisness with it's own territory and border, even cuba has a higher chance of privatizing because they act more of a country than north korea, the only chance of this happening is only when the whole kim family would stop ruling and would be replaced by a revisionist and reformist supreme leader.
